Longest Day Chippenham 10k - Rescheduled Race Date.
We hope you’ve had a good week and managed to stay safe during the extreme heat over the past few days. We’re sure you’ll agree that postponing Wednesday’s event was absolutely the right decision, given the conditions.
First and foremost, we’d like to thank every one of you for your patience, understanding, and support. The decision to postpone was not taken lightly, and while I’ve worked on more than 1,500 events throughout my career, this has been one of the most challenging situations I’ve ever faced. Your positive response and encouragement have meant a great deal to us.
New Race Date Confirmed
We are delighted to announce that the Longest Day Chippenham 10K has been rescheduled for Wednesday 15 July, with the race starting at 7:30pm.
The best news is that everything you were looking forward to will remain exactly as planned, including:
Closed-road start and finish
The normal 10K route
The samba band to #SambaToTheStart
Live music from Henry Ray
And so much more...
What Are Your Options?
We appreciate that the new date may not work for everyone, so we have several options available:
1. Race on the new date
If you can make the new date, there’s nothing you need to do. Your entry will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled event.
2. Transfer your place to another runner
You can transfer your entry to a friend, family member, club mate, or another runner.
Simply log in to your My RaceNation account HERE and follow:
My Event Entries → View Entries → Transfer → Transfer to Another Entrant
Enter the email address of the person taking your place and click Start Transfer.
When transferring you will also have the option of selecting a Full Transfer. This means that when you send the invite, the person taking your place will pay their entry fee and once this is done you will receive a full refund directly from our entry partner RaceNation.
3. Transfer to another i-Compete event
You may transfer your entry to any i-Compete event that is currently open for entries.
Log in to your account HERE and follow:
My Event Entries → View Entries → Transfer → Transfer to Another Event
Select your preferred event and click Start Transfer.
4. Complete the event virtually
If you would still like to earn the fantastic Longest Day Chippenham 10K medal but cannot attend on the new date, you can complete the event virtually.
Simply email us HERE. You will have two weeks from 15th July to complete your 10K, after which we will send your medal to you by post.
If you are choosing option 2 or 3 then you need to ensure all transfers are completed by 5pm on Monday 13th July. We will not be able to facilitate transfers after this date. If you are choosing to run the event virtually then you need to have emailed us by 5pm on Monday 13th July as well.

The race starts at 19:30 to give everyone time to get there after work, and there is plenty of parking in the town.

In 2026 for just £10 you can have your medal personalised with your name, position and finish time and if you’re keen, your splits too. Your details and results will be engraved on a small plate which fits neatly into the back of your medal. See itab for an example.
Cut Off Times
There are no official cut off times for the event, but the event marshals will be removed from the course after 95 minutes and anyone taking longer than this will have to make their way back safely themselves.
Registration and Briefing Times
Registration will be held in the Town Hall which is half way down Chippenham High Street. There will also be a pop up garden in the market place with picnic benches and children's games.
